In this post, you will learn how to install Iris Shaders for Minecraft 1.18.1. With Iris Shaders, you can use Sodium and 1.18.1 shaders all together!
How To Get Started
To get started, you want to open the Minecraft Launcher. If you haven’t already, you may need to log in before you can play Minecraft. The first thing you want to do is select Minecraft 1.18.1 from the list of profiles. What this does, is download and install Minecraft 1.18.1 to your pc, which is required if you want to install shaders for Minecraft 1.18.1.
Once you’ve selected Minecraft 1.18.1, click Play and wait for the game to launch. Once you’ve made it to the main menu of the game, you have successfully installed Minecraft 1.18.1.
The next step is to download 📦 Iris and Sodium Installer. On the download page, click Download Universal JAR Installer.
Because it is a JAR installer, it may not open correctly. Use the programs below to fix these problems:
📦 Java and Jarfix (to fix jar files):
Jarfix 3.0.0: https://johann.loefflmann.net/en/software/jarfix/index.html
Once this file finishes downloading, you want to open the program. After opening the installer, select Minecraft version 1.18.1 and you can now click Install, and it will start installing Iris & Sodium. Once that’s done, open your Minecraft Launcher again. If the installation was successful, you should now see a new Iris & Sodium profile in the launcher.

Now all there’s left to do is install the shaders. Type %appdata% in your search bar, hit enter and navigate to the .minecraft folder. If you’ve never installed shaders before, you may need to create a new folder called shaderpacks. After creating that folder, drag in the Oceano Shaders zip file, and close all windows.
